From Macau to Hong Kong
Our first night in Hong Kong was spent sleeping in the hostel. We're so tired from exploring Macau that we didn't even have the energy to buy food.
The following morning though, was full of amazing activities. It is our official day 1 in Hong Kong. We woke up early to catch the ferry from Central Pier 6 going to Silvermine Bay Ferry Pier in Mui Wo. Mui Wo is in Lantau Island where Ngong Ping 360, Po Lin Monastary and Tian Tan Buddha are located.
We had the chance to explore the place and eat breakfast because the first bus left us as I had to go to the toilet. It was another hour of waiting for the next bus to arrive so we went around and check out the establishments in the area. We passed by a Filipino store that sells all kinds of items from the Philippines. Not sure if it is the time of the day when we arrived but the place was very peaceful and quiet. You'll see locals around here and there but there's not much people except from other tourist eating breakfast in some of the island's restaurants. Our chosen place for breakfast was Sun Fat Restaurant in front of Wellcome convenience store.
It took us approximately 45 minutes to reach Ngong Ping. It was like traveling from La Union to Baguio due to its winding road.
Touring this place requires a lot of walking and stair climbing. For you to reach the top you have to go up 268 steps. Wew! The view is spectacular and made the climb a breath taking one, literally! Despite the area provided to rest on the way up (which I utilized so much), I was grasping for air when I reached the top.
But then as soon as oxygen filled my lungs, I was able to fully look at the surroundings and the grasping for air became all worth it.

We went and explore the museum on top where lots of old paintings and scribbles can be found. The entrance fee came with free vegetarian lunch. We looked forward to it cause we were starving!
Few more pictures before we enter the Po Lin Monastery.
Beautiful art works welcomed us, from buildings, status, sculptures... Everything is just so grand, colourful and happy, yet so peaceful and calming. Amazingly put together for everyone to see and experience.
After going around the area we decided to head over the restaurant that serves vegan dishes. Our ticket to enter the museum inside the Buddha came with a free snack coupon.
Full and sleepy after eating but we pushed ourselves to walk and head down the Ngong Ping Village. Our plan is to ride the cable car back to the city.
You'd think we're tired? Yes! But no, our day didn't end after we're back in the city. We travelled all the way to Kowloon to buy electronic gadgets as requested by one of our friends. Soon as we got what we want, we went straight to Tsim Sha Tsui station then to Avenue of Stars. Along the way, we passed by Chungking Mansion to get our US dollars changed to HKD. It was also nice to see the Hong Kong Cultural Center and Museum of Arts.
Our plan for the night is to watch the light show and get us our tickets to HK Disney Land. Based on my research, there is a kiosk found along the Avenue of Stars.
Soon as the light show ended, we walked and looked for the kiosk. All my bones were hurting by this time but we continued to walk and walk until we found it! Got our tickets and decided to head back to our hostel.
We haven't had dinner so we decided to stop by one Chinese restaurant near our hostel. The old lady that assisted us didn't know how to speak English so we tried hard to make sure she got our orders right... But she didn't... We were hungry so we didn't bother to order again. The food she served us tasted great anyway so we ate it all.
And yes! After our dinner, we decided to finally crash. Every part of my body hurts by this time but adrenaline still keeps me alive! Until the following morning...
I managed to get up, get dressed and eat breakfast the following day. However, due to unforeseen circumstances, our trip to Disney Land didn't happen. :( But I'm not going to talk about it here. Let's just say I spent the entire day in bed and here's the culprit... :)
